Senior IT Infrastructure Lead

Job Description

Situated at our US headquarters in Raleigh, NC, this pivotal role commands the design, deployment, and leadership of information systems and technologies across the Large Molecules Center of Excellence in Research Triangle Park (RTP) and Solvias, North America. As the Global Head of Lab IT, you will be instrumental in hiring, nurturing, and retaining a top-tier team of IT professionals, driving the IT strategy at RTP and beyond. You’re tasked with orchestrating the rollout of critical systems and platforms, including enterprise and laboratory management systems, analytics, and business systems that underpin operational excellence and growth. Additionally, you will oversee the IT capital and operating budgets, ensuring strategic allocation of resources.

Critical Performance Areas:

  • Strategic Execution Guidance: Execute IT strategies that align with the US business overarching business and operational goals and the global IT objectives of Solvias.
  • Technology Leadership: Provide clear direction and execute with the IT team, ensuring efficient systems implementation, maintenance, and budget management.
  • Project Management: Lead and execute key IT projects, driving local and global initiatives that support business scalability, operational effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Global Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the Global IT Organization to share best practices and contribute to global IT initiatives.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, including network, server, storage, cloud, virtualization, and security technologies
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to GxP/GMP/CSV regulations and data security standards.
  • Business Partnership: Partner effectively with business stakeholders across the organization to identify and implement IT solutions that support their needs and strategic objectives.
  • Agility & Collaboration: Demonstrate technical and leadership skills, including the ability to navigate ambiguity, communicate effectively, and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in the Pharma/Biopharmaceutical or CRO/CDMO industries.
  • Proven track record of success in leading and motivating IT teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth expertise in planning, implementing, and managing IT infrastructure within a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of software validation requirements within a GxP/GMP/CSV framework.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization with international stakeholders.

Other Desired Skills/Abilities

  • Experience working in a global organization.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies, ITSM, and the like.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
