Located at our large molecule headquarters in RTP, North Carolina, the IT Workplace Technician will play a critical role in supporting new installations at our RTP location to support the influx of new customers. This hands-on position is responsible for providing the necessary services for our internal and external customer needs. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where operational excellence and compliance are key.
- Deliver day-to-day support for Windows 10/11 desktops and laptops, including imaging, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Administer Active Directory, group policies, and file/print services and Office 365.
- Monitor and maintain Cisco Wi-Fi services; escalate to Infrastructure engineering when required.
- Provide responsive, customer-focused support to scientists and lab staff in a GMP/GLP environment, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Draft, review, and update IT standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, service requests, and change records.
Requirements
- 3 + years of IT support experience, including Windows 10/11 and basic network troubleshooting.
- Solid working knowledge of Active Directory and Office 365.
- Demonstrated support background in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or laboratory environment.
- Ability to work through well-structured IT SOPs and technical documentation as well as the ability to generate new.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; able to interact confidently with end users at all levels.
- Ability to lift and rack IT equipment up to ~40 lbs. and work in lab areas containing sensitive instruments.
Preferred Certifications (Highly Valued)
- CompTIA: A+, Network+, Security+, Server+
- Microsoft: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MD-102), Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800/801)
- Any relevant Cisco (CCNA) or ITIL certifications are a plus.
